Another successful year at The Roundhouse!
In October, The Roundhouse was voted Best Community Centre in the Best of Vancouver Awards | The Georgia Straight. Our staff, volunteers, and board are thrilled that the community enjoys the diverse range of recreation and arts programming we offer here. Our residencies continue to serve the arts community, offering a wide range of exhibits, workshops, and performances for youth and adults. Special events continue to be a highlight of our offerings, including a new Family Day event in partnership with Music on Main, Big Bang! and a Father’s Day weekend all-ages concert with Robin Layne exploring Latin music.
Here’s a look back at what 2025 looked like at The Roundhouse.
Eggstravaganza Easter Celebration
Last spring, the Easter Bunny made its annual appearance, handing out treats and giving hugs. As usual, we had a full house for the event. Families had the opportunity to pet bunnies in our animal petting zoo, participate in Easter-themed crafts, visit the Easter Bunny, and enjoy plenty of treats!
Big Bang! Festival
New this year was the first annual BIG BANG! Festival, an international event that creates an adventurous and joyful musical experience for young audiences and their families, transforming cultural venues into a “musical labyrinth” with concerts, sound installations, and interactive activities. Held across Europe, Canada, and Brazil, the festival offers a diverse program designed to spark children’s interest in adventurous music and sound art, moving beyond traditional seated concerts to create immersive, discoverable experiences.
This unique global event was co-presented with Music on Main and created by Zonzo Compagnie.
Arts in Motion Youth Residency
Building on the success of Enduring Threads, our Arts Programmer and Community Youth Worker launched the second season, now rebranded as Arts in Motion. This ongoing youth arts program encourages creative expression and performance, culminating in a showcase for Youth Week 2026.

The Outsider Arts Festival returned with another fantastic exhibit in October. This festival showcases the work of visual artists and performers outside of mainstream art institutions. They strive to provide a platform for these artists to share their unique perspectives and artistic visions with the community. The Roundhouse is delighted to have hosted this fantastic festival.
Summer Safari Daycamps
We launched 74 specialty summer camps over nine weeks, offering a wide range of activities including tennis, art, science, yoga and dance, architecture, acting, Byte and robotics, and more. Most camps reached minimum numbers however many reached near full capacity.
Our Summer Safari Daycamps served 724 Daycamp spots over nine weeks of camp, with 202 enrolled in after camp. A huge thank-you to our dedicated leaders and Daycamp Manager Justis Fedler, who worked tirelessly to create a fun, inclusive, and memorable experience for all participants.
Seniors Week 2025
During Seniors Week (June 2 – 6), we offered free classes and workshops for our vibrant senior community, all of which were fully registered.
The week featured Qi Gong, Line Dance, an Improv workshop, Watercolour Painting, Hawaiian Dance, Community Sharing with the Ageless Dancers, Fraud Prevention Awareness, Cardio Core, and a Self-Portrait Drawing class. It concluded with the popular Seniors Week Tea Dance, bringing everyone together for music and dancing.
