TRAIN OF THOUGHT

July at The Roundhouse: Art Galore

The Roundhouse is immersed in art this July with several unique presentations.

Join us at The Roundhouse on Thursday, July 18, to celebrate World Listening Day and Murray Schafer’s birthday. Engage in the art of noticing with your ears through a city sound walk and a multi-channel installation concert!

The exhibition hall will hold a sound installation and workshop on Friday, July 19. Visit our events page for more details.

Don’t miss the Vancouver Art Book Fair in the Exhibition Hall the following week. It’s a multi-day celebration of artists’ publishing, featuring a diverse array of over a hundred local, national, and international publishers. The event also includes a rich mix of programs, performances, and artists’ projects. The exhibitors will showcase a wide variety of publications, including books, magazines, zines, printed ephemera, and digital or experimental forms of publication.

Our month-long celebration culminates with a special showcase in collaboration with the Filipino Music & Art Foundation in BC called Pagtitipon-A Gathering. This exhibition is a testament to the rich artistic heritage of the Philippines, featuring original works by Filipino-Canadian artists. Among the talented artists participating are Danvic Briones, Paulina Constancia, Tessie Dichupa, Jo Galang, Kiana Hipolito, Lenore RS Lim, Chito Maravilla, Esmie Gayo McLaren, and Bert Monterona.

The Roundhouse will be buzzing with creative energy and artistic expression this July. From celebrating World Listening Day and Murray Schafer’s birthday to hosting the Vancouver Art Book Fair and showcasing Filipino-Canadian artists’ works, the arts’ diversity and vibrancy will be on full display. The Roundhouse continues to be a hub for cultural exchange and artistic exploration, and we look forward to more inspiring events in the coming months. Thank you to all the participants, organizers, and attendees who have made this month a truly memorable and enriching experience.
