Collage and Mixed Media

Get together with new friends and make art cut and paste various media whileyou chat at this hands-on social activity for all levels of interest. Collage is a way of art making that embraces combining a wide variety of materials. The materials can be anything including what you can find in your recycle bin. We will use magazines, paper, fabric, and everyday materials to assembleimages on cardboard or paper. We will use glue sticks, glue, and scissors or will tear paper to adhere to the surface. It’s a generous and forgiving medium to make art by applying recognizable and abstract images. I will show you how collage has evolved in art to give some context to prove this important practice in our everyday life. Most important we will all have fun learning about ourselves, our personal development in art practice and especially self-expression. Individual attention is given every second to encourage personal growth. Come sift through magazines and materials to find some treasures to beginworking by experimenting with various collage techniques to developing afinished work in this fun atmosphere.
