Early Math Matters

This program is designed to be fun, creative and helps young children make sense of the world around them as well as teaching children important problem- solving strategies. With hands on learning opportunities drawn from Piaget's educational theories and Montessori materials children will gain the experience to develop pre-math and pre-language skills. Research from different countries and historical periods have shown that the development of early math skills before entering elementary school is critical for academic achievement. These skills are crucial for critical thinking and problem solving abilities Topics include number sense, patterns, classifying objects, measurement, sequences, estimation and problem solving. No session Sept 30 and Nov 11.
