At the Centre of Community: An Exhibition of Indigenous Cultural Practices took place at both the Roundhouse and across several city parks and included a vibrant visual arts exhibition, performances, screenings, artist talks, and maker workshops. The works invited connection with the land, examined local histories, and prompted personal reflection towards understanding Indigenous presence at the centre of community.

The free exhibition and series of events were presented from September 23 to October 1, 2022 in celebration of xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, Coast Salish and Urban Indigenous artists working in community.

Featured artists and cultural practitioners: Luther Aday, Travis Angus, Jolene Andrew, Adele ᒪᐢᑿᓱᐏᐢᑵᐤ Arseneau, Leona Brown, Giihlgiigaa-Todd Devries, Wil George, Kitty Guerin, Meagan Innes, Jimmy Joseph with lisa g nielsen, Ray Natraoro, Atheana Picha, Danielle “Juicy” Rediron, Chrystal Sparrow, Candace Thomas, Kamala Todd, and T’uy’t’tanat-Cease Wyss.
