In celebration of courageous acts of art-making during the pandemic, the Vancouver Park Board Decolonization, Arts and Culture Team in partnership with the Roundhouse presented Together and Apart: with exhibitions, screenings, workshops and live performances from Sept 16 to 26, 2021. Together and Apart highlighted artists who reached out to isolated families, youth and seniors in remarkable, creative ways, to work together and inspire one another during this extraordinary time.

The reciprocity of giving and receiving through art was a 10-day celebration that invited the public to: peer into artists studios, dance in the park, take a felting or zine workshop, participate in Indigenous sharing circles, and check out artists at work in neighbourhood parks and fieldhouses.

The Exhibition Opening included the world premiere of Doing It for Love: Five Stories from Creative Communities in a Global Pandemic. Filmed and edited by artist Israel Seoane, this 5-part short documentary series reflects on the creativity, resilience and richness of artists and community working together in difficult times.
