The Roundhouse is buzzing with Arts & Culture this April! 

Visual Art, Film Festivals, Craft Markets and Music Performances come to the Roundhouse this April.

The Roundhouse Community Centre has no shortage of exciting events this April. From music performances to film festivals and craft markets, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Shari Ulrich hosts Songbird North April 4 at The Roundhouse.

On April 4, Songbird North returns to the Roundhouse Performance Centre in partnership with the Songwriters Association of Canada. This bi-monthly showcase features four exceptional singer-songwriters playing songs and sharing stories with the audience. The lineup includes Jill Barber, Cara Luft, Christina Martin, and host Shari Ulrich. This is a must-see event for music lovers.

If you’re in the mood for shopping, head to the Portobello West – Spring Market on April 6th and 7th. This curated selection of 65+ local BC vendors features a handpicked selection of makers specializing in quality handmade family fashion, jewelry, art, home decor, skincare, pet accessories, gourmet treats, wine & spirits, and more. Plus, the first 100 people to purchase advance tickets are automatically entered into a $50 shopping spree draw to use at the Roundhouse Spring Market.

Reel 2 Real Film festival Runs April 7–14 at The Roundhouse.

For film buffs, the Reel 2 Real International Festival for Youth is coming to the Roundhouse. This festival runs from April 7 to April 14, featuring screenings of funny, beautiful, and imaginative short films for everyone. The festival includes an opening film and gala party, Sunday Fun Day with pancake breakfast, animation workshops and short film programs, an awards ceremony, and a closing film. There’s also a Youth Media Conference where young filmmakers learn from industry professionals.

On April 19, the Roundhouse hosts GREENFIELD, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the RCA LP Blue Sky. This concert features Barry Greenfield’s 1973 album, considered one of the best Canadian albums ever recorded. The setup promises to be warm and welcoming, and audience members can expect an intellectually and emotionally satisfying performance.

Music lovers won’t want to miss the “Best of The West” live music showcase concert on April 21. This concert features emerging musicians from British Columbia who will take you into the future with their modern music. You can sit at cabaret-style coffee tables and enjoy pizza, beverages, and great music. This is an excellent opportunity to support young musicians from British Columbia and help move them forward in their careers while enjoying fantastic music.

The Speaking From Our Art event is an excellent opportunity to witness the incredible artistic achievements of Vancouver’s talented youth. The exhibition and performance night showcase a variety of talents in different art forms, including visual arts, music, and dance. The show is a composite of Alternative School Art, giving voice to a population often under-represented. Speaking From Our Art, an event showcasing the creativity of Vancouver’s Alternative Schools’ youth from April 23-26.

  2. Click the ‘Register Now’ button in the Roundhouse Program you want to register for. This will take you to the program page on the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation website.
  3. Complete your registration, including payment.
