This is your opportunity to create original theatre, dance, music, and visual art with exciting Vancouver artists.
Plant a Seed Bead Residency Final Showing
The Roundhouse Arts & Recreation Centre holds several residencies on an annual basis. Starting in January, our Window Gallery will showcase the Plant a Seed Bead Residency. Nehiyaw (Cree) and Métis visual artist Adele ᒪᐢᑿᓱᐤᐃᐢᑵᐤ Arseneau has worked hard to regather, practice, and foster traditional skills unavailable to her while growing up, to address inequities of privilege. Her Plant a Seed Bead Residency offered participants the unique opportunity to learn beading directly from the artist and, in turn, to foster sharing this knowledge with their circle as was traditional practice. We now celebrate this project, which wrapped this fall, by inviting you to view the work Adele ᒪᐢᑿᓱᐤᐃᐢᑵᐤ created in and inspired by the Plant a Seed Bead Residency. She concludes this project with a reminder of her firm belief that we are all simultaneously teachers and learners and can choose to honour and cultivate these roles in our lives.

Drawn Together: an exercise in illustrative art practice and creative community! Drawn Together is
an effort to connect with and support other drawers (or the visual-art-curious) in the local community
through sharing skills and space.

Meet our Lead Artist!
Alison Woodward (they/them) is a grateful, uninvited guest on a beautiful, unceded coast they have always called home. They love to chase joy through imaginative illustration and creative
collaboration with a focus on storytelling featuring the other-than-human. Al’s educational background ranges from a life of curiosity and self teaching, community led learning, just over a decade of a tattoo career, as well as a BFA from Emily Carr University in 2014. Their practice spans many mediums from book arts to painting while always focusing on representative image making. They very much enjoy reading, walking with their dog, and playing games
